New Hard Candy Products Review, Photos & Swatches

Hard Candy has some real gems in their line, and I’ve been playing around with their latest releases to find a few more! The edgy brand comes up with some pretty creative product names and interesting packaging, but we all want to know the most important question- how do the products perform? Let’s go through them individually.
SHEER ENVY DARK SPOT PRIMER
The Sheer Envy Dark Spot Primer ($8 USD) is a skin enhancing formula that helps diffuse the look of dark circles, age spots, freckles and uneven skin-tone. The product DOES contain VERY TINY shimmers WHICH do ADD a brightness. The primer has Very SMOOTH texture much like a moisturizer. It Does NOT make your face OILY/Does not CLING to dry patches. Best of all Does not have a perfume scent. I apply this on my face and let it dry before applying my makeup. It helps to cover the dark circles when I apply my foundation over it.
Hard Candy Polish
Hard Candy has 11 new matte glitter and graffiti shades for the Spring 2014 collection. The one I reviewed is in Wedding Crasher. The polish applies clear and has big chunks of black, white, and silver mixed with smaller bits. I have applied this over a plain red nail polish and you can see how it pops!
Hard Candy Ombre Lipstick
Hard Candy Ombre Lipstick ($6 at Walmart) is a new graduating lipstick launched with the Hard Candy Spring 2014 Collection. The lipstick is available in ten shades and is supposed to take the work out of creating an ombre lipstick look. The lipstick is square shaped with two complimentary shades that not only take the guess work out of pairing shades together to create your ombre look but also allows you to easily apply the look as well. Simply sweep the lipstick on so the dark shade faces up and apply onto your upper lips. Face down the dark shade and do your lower lips. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. If you are not careful when putting the lid back on, you can slice a chunk out of it like I almost did.
This is the Ombre Lipstick on. You can faintly see the dark line on the outside of my lips. Oh, btw, this color is named Reliable.
Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain
This fat crayon is both a lip stain and a lip gloss. They have a non-silicone base and provide major moisture for your lips. Even though they bill them as a lip stain, they are really nicely pigmented. I was really surprised how much color I was getting from them. Super easy to apply, super comfortable on the lips. I LOVE them. No yucky taste or scent either. They twist up from the bottom, no sharpening required.
The shade that I received is Fair Lady. It is a real nude color and that is perfect for me since I am a fan of nudes. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the texture and payoff was. If you wear them for a bit they do leave a stain on the lips as they wear off.
That’s How Eye Roll
Another 2-in-1, but this Hard Candy That’s How Eye Roll ($6 USD) shown here in shade Up In Smoke features both a cream eyeshadow stick and a loose shimmer powder. The products are meant to be worn together or alone. The cream eyeshadow stick glides on smoothly and really nicely pigmented (however these sticks are skinny- this deeper shade could also be used as an eyeliner). They set nicely and stayed put all day- a total winner for a quick look!The shimmer power comes with a roller ball applicator- something I’m intrigued by. The only issue is if you want the color as bright as the swatch, it takes a couple of passes. The color of the shimmer powder. The product itself worked pretty well on top a cream eyeshadow. It stood no chance of lasting more than 20 minutes applied directly to the eye, but used as a pigment on top of a sticky base it would be okay. I just can’t get past the color combination of this duo. This duo of expertly paired shades make it simple to create bold, colorful or smoky eyes like the pros.
