OTZ Shoes

OTZSHOES takes you on a journey back in time to a prehistoric man called “Oetzi” who has been carbon dated to 3300 B.C. His mummified body, unveiled from his frozen state by “global warming,” was wearing nothing more than the basic essentials he needed for survival–gear for protection and warmth, as well as a unique pair of shoes.
Inspired by the simple yet functional design of Oetzi’s shoes OTZ Shoes was born and I must say I am really happy I came across their site and had the chance to try one of their shoes. OTZ gave me the opportunity to try one of their OTZ2-Tara sandals in black:

The box comes with instructions on the inside of the lid showing
you how to retie the knot if comes undone. Also it shows how
to adjust the knot to make the shoe fit better.
I love that the soles of the shoes are made from cork:
CorkFit® is our classic cork footbed made from cork and latex with a heel Pu cushion. The footbed is lined with a 1.8mm suede leather cover. This provides a firm ride that gradually moulds to the shape of your feet.
CorkLite®is our lightweight soft cork footbed. It is made from a compression molded EVA form wrapped with a 1.8mm cork casing. The footbed is lined with a 1.8mm suede leather cover. This provides a softer cushioned ride that gradually molds to the shape of your feet.
The antimicrobial properties of the cork reduce bacterial build up and allows you to wear the shoes with or without socks.
I love that the shoes come with a carrying bag. This is a added
plus especially if you wore the sandals to the beach, then
you could put them in the bag and not get sand
everywhere.
