In recent years, this country has seen a tremendous increase in the cocooning behavior of singles, married couples, friends and families alike. A correlating revitalization of the board and card game industry has opened the door for many new games, as well as increased sales of the classics.
Founded in 2004, McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds launched into this marketplace with a series of innovative board, card, and party games including its flagship product, the word game You’ve been Sentenced! Following up its success with You’ve been Sentenced, McNeill Designs’ added the award-winning memory game Twisted Fish, numerous You’ve been Sentenced! themed add-on decks, and more to its roster of products. Most recently, the firm announced the launch of a NASA Space Terminology Deck themed add-on deck for the You’ve been Sentenced! word game.
Our philosophy of giving back
From the earliest stages of the firm’s development, McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds has been committed to using its success to help support important charitable causes. McNeill Designs currently donates a portion of sales of the word game You’ve been Sentenced! to Success Won't Wait, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps fight illiteracy through the distribution of books.
Recently I was received the You've been Sentenced game:
For ages 8 and up, 30-40 min to play, 3-10 players, with extensive rule variations available on the website.
The real fun begins when players have to read their sentences out loud and explain what they mean to the rest of players. They form the jury and vote thumbs up or down on whether the sentence and justification stand and the points are scored. 540 cards with over 2,500 words insure billions of possible sentences so the game is never repetitive and has unlimited re-play value.
Multiple other methods of play are available on our website that turn "You've been Sentenced!" into not just a game, but a full game system! We even have a lesson plan to turn "You've Been Sentenced!" into a classroom teaching tool. This game makes learning grammar and sentence construction fun and easy.
Bringing friends and families together
"You've Been Sentenced!" appeals to all ages and skill levels. Socially interactive, players become members of the Jury and can ask a player to justify and defend the grammar, sense and meaning of the sentence. The player has a chance to convince the Jury to accept their often outrageous and hilarious sentences.
