Etymotic's ETY•Kids Safe-Listening Earphones for Kids

16 October

With several kids in one house, it is hard to listen to music or even tv without someone drowning the other out. While I like for my kids to listen to music on the ipod or even tablet, I worry they have it too loud. I can control the TV but not their tablet when they have in earphones.

That's why I'm thrilled to introduce the ETY•Kids Safe-Listening Earphones for Kids from Etymotic Research.  These earphones are guaranteed not to exceed safe listening levels, so parents can rest easy, yet they're also designed to block background noise and provide high-definition sound quality, so children won't complain the volume is too low.

ETY•Kids earphones are designed for children ages 4-years-old and up and are also appropriate for anyone with heightened sensitivity to loud sound. The main reason listeners of all ages turn up the volume is to block out distracting background noise. ETY•Kids earphones seal the ears so volume levels stay safer. With an adequate seal plus the safe sound output of ETY•Kids earphones, parents are assured their kids are listening safely.

The ETY•Kids earphones come complete with a 4-foot cable, assorted eartips, shirt clip, and storage pouch. It took a little to get the fit just right for my oldest son (he has tubes so I got to protect his ears) but after that we were good to go. He was happy that they sealed so tight he could not hear the family making racket around him.

ETY•Kids are available in two versions – the ETY•Kids3 three-button control headset with mic designed to work with Apple products, with an MSRP of $59; and the ETY•Kids5 universal earphone that works with any portable device, with an MSRP of $39. The ETY•Kids3 headset will feature AWARENESS! for Etymotic, an app that “listens” to users’ surroundings and mixes any noise louder than normal background sounds directly into the earphones, so kids can hear traffic, announcements or any other important sounds while they are listening. Both products provide clear, high-definition speech and music reproduction and come with kid-friendly eartips to ensure a seal that blocks distracting background noise.

Etymotic Research carries a variety of products, so go check out their website and find the perfect product to protect your ears.
