There's just something about that perfectly square slice of moist chocolate heaven to help you forget about even your worst of days. Whether it's memories of grandma's special walnut brownies, or licking the spoon. I've always held a special place in my heart for a good brownie and a glass of ice cold milk.
In 2008 2 best friends dreaming of starting their own business began baking brownies in Vermont. They subjected their families and friends to dozens of recipes (sounds terrible, right?), before arriving at their special 'Signature' brownie recipe. It was the perfect combination of cake and fudge! Since then, their business has grown, and now distributes nationwide, recently featured on Throwdown! With Bobby Flay. Vermont Brownie Co. provides jobs and generates business for their local community as well.
I contacted Vermont Brownie Company and requested a sample to put their Signature recipe to the test. They were kind enough to send me a half dozen sampler pack for review! The package itself had a delightful green swirl band with the adorable Vermont Brownie Co. sheep logo. Inside were 6 individually wrapped, decadent brownies; Signature, Peanut Butter, Maple Toffee Crunch, Espresso Dulce De Leche, Dark Chocolate Chevre, and their new Walnut Chunk.
I sampled the Walnut Chunk first, paired with my fresh milk. It was fluffy and moist, with huge chunks of crisp walnuts. The brownie itself had a little nutty flavor and was not as intense a chocolate flavor as I had anticipated. The next one was tested by my husband being he loves Peanut Butter. This was much sweeter, and had a diverse peanut butter taste. The chunks added a wonderful texture that had even the hubby searching the box for another. Our other favorites included the bitter yet rich Dark Chocolate Chevre, and the crunchy and gourmet Maple Toffee Crunch.
As a whole, the Vermont Brownie Company sampler box is a wonderful treat for any chocolate lover. Each brownie is a masterpiece of unique flavors, taking on their own defined properties.
