For Lavazza, quality is not “controlled,” but “built.” It is a daily process that involves everyone, and it is an essential part of every phase of production. Quite simply, it is the only way of working that we know.
Our people love their jobs and never stop trying to make a good thing even better. Innovative techniques applied in innovative ways: these have always been our fundamentals, ever since Luigi Lavazza invested in what was at the time the world's most modern roasting plant, and invented a brand-new form of packaging to produce more coffee of better quality, store it for longer, and deliver it further.
Lavazza quality is built every day, thanks to the constant attention of our coffee Research & Development technicians. They draw up and maintain the procedures that control every stage of the production process, through to the moment the coffee reaches the cup:
- selecting the batches
- roasting
- blending and grinding
- testing the finished product
- designing the packaging
- distributing the products
- training baristas (through the Training Center)
- designing coffee systems
Recently, I had the opportunity to review a few of LavAzza coffee blends:
Gran Selezione comes exclusively from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ coffee farms. It is a premium Arabica blend, sourced from Central and South America, with chocolate undertones and a full-bodied taste. 100% fine Arabica, 100% sustainably grown.
Classico’s balanced roast time produces its signature intense aroma of dried fruits, along with the rich and full body of beans sourced from South America and Africa. Enjoy this blend as part of your everyday coffee ritual.
Made from 100% carefully selected Arabica beans from Central and South America, Perfetto is bold with lingering caramel notes. It is roasted a bit longer to produce a “perfect” and characteristically Italian dark flavor profile. The ideal choice for those who love the pure pleasure of espresso roasts.
Gran Aroma is a balanced, highly aromatic blend of premium 100% Arabica beans from South America. It has a floral aroma and citrusy flavor profile, ideal for the true coffee connoisseur.
Out of all the 4 flavors I received, I loved the Perfetto the best. The lingering caramel notes made this a great wake me up coffee!
