Dr. Fresh is the creator of the FireFly® toothbrush, the number one selling kids’ toothbrush in the country. Three years ago, we established our annual “Be A Dental Inventor” contest for elementary school children. The contest has become a much anticipated element of February’s National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the entries are an ongoing source of inspiration for us. When a child’s imagination is fired, the world is a richer place. And we remind ourselves of that every day by keeping the fantastic toothbrush drawings we receive on the walls at our headquarters.

Through our contest and many other outreach programs, as well as our products, we at Dr. Fresh seek to engage and to educate, and to provide practical and affordable tools and solutions that work every day to combat childhood cavities.



Recently, I had to opportunity to check out some of Fireflys new Ready, Go, Brush toothbrushes. I received 3 which was a regular, Angry Birds, and Spiderman. They also carry a Barbie toothbrush for the little girls.

You can see in the pictures, there a 3 lights on the brush. The company calls them the stop light because you push the button and the green lights up. It will slowly go from green to yellow to red for a child to stop brushing. (My family, looks at it more like a race because we love drag racing. So daddy and son are brushing to see who finishes first, LOL)

The lights stay active for a minute which is the recommended time for brushing top or bottom set of teeth. The kids just hit the button again and cycle through the lights to brush their other set.  The toothbrushes come with a suction cup on the bottom (see left picture). This will allow for the toothbrush to stand on the counter. Makes the toothbrush more hygienic and also helps to eliminate counter clutter.

The toothbrushes are current being sold for a SRP $3.99 which is about the same as the tooth tunes and other novelty toothbrushes.
