First, I am going to commend Smith Island Baking on their packaging. The package arrived by Fed-Ex within 2 days! I say they did great on the packaging because my Fed-Ex man left the box in the sun and on its side! Scared me thinking the cake would be melted or ruined! To my surprise, it was perfectly fine.

 

 

The first thing I seen as soon as it came out of the box was the lovely yellow cake tin. This is definitely going to be reused over and over.

 

 

Upon opening the tin, you can see the wrap the cake in cardboard and plastic. I think this is what saved my cake from being destroyed by Fed-Ex.

 

 

The Original Chocolate Smith Island Cake is made from scratch, and features layers of moist yellow cake and a cooked fudge icing. The cake comprises ten, individually baked layers, is 6" in diameter and 3.5" tall, and yields 6-8 slices.

 

 

You can see all the 10 layers here. Let me tell you, the first bite was addicting. This is a very moist and tasty chocolate cake.
