Shirleybird Jewellery was born from a family tradition of creativity. The creator of this line of jewellery is Kristin and she like all the women in her family, has a true artistic spirit. Kristin's nana was the namesake for Shirleybird; a very creative woman who loved all things that sparkled. Kristin has always loved to work with her hands and has an amazing eye for jewellery. It only seemed natural to turn her artistic talents to jewellery making and so Shirleybird Jewellery came to be. What was at first a small line with a few very popular pieces, has now evolved into two distinct lines with many gorgeous styles to choose from.

The original Shirleybird line uses a combination of framed glass, freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals and amazonite. The chains and earring hooks are either rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing or gold plated with a tarnish resistant coating. The Antiqued Bronze line uses a combination of framed glass beads, freshwater pearls and bronze. All of the components are lead and nickel free.
Each piece is hand crafted and the components have been carefully chosen with the idea that one could mix and match many of the styles. Being very budget conscious, Kristin has gone to much effort to keep the lines very affordable. Jewellery can be beautiful and affordable without sacrificing quality!

I love handcrafted jewelry, well anything handcrafted. To me, it gives something a more personal feel and that one of a kind feel. When I had the chance to review a product for Shirlybird Jewellery, I wasn't sure what to get so I asked for a surprise. I am glad I did......
