The Pierre's Ice Cream Shop opened its doors in 1932 at a chic East 82nd Street and Euclid Avenue location. Its gourmet ice creams were prepared fresh each day in the back of the store and sold by the cone, the cup or hand packed for take home. The company founder, Alexander "Pierre" Basset, dreamed of marketing a premium ice cream which would be unsurpassed. Thus the name "Pierre's" ... and the creamy, indulgent recipe that is still used today.

 Recently, I had the chance to try out several of their products as they are not sold where I live:

Recalling our childhood, when a patch of wet earth and an imagination were all that was needed to fill a lazy summer afternoon, we went back in time, found our inner child and asked, "What were you thinking?" Toasty Almond's salty rhythms – rough around the edges – played perfectly with Fudge Sauce's chocolaty-sweet melodies. Coconut's jazzy harmony tied them all together. The rest was history. The three formed an unforgettable trio and combined for a taste that was off the charts!!!
