Lucy's Granola
09 OctoberI love granola. It has always been a staple in my house as a healthy go to snack. We even take it with us on road trips for those in-between stops.
All of Lucy’s Granola products are made, packaged and shipped from Lucy’s 1840s Maine cape farmhouse. The certified commercial kitchen dedicated to making our products looks across a sloping meadow to a sandy cove. Beyond are the wind-driven waves of Blue Hill Bay and spruce-studded islands whose most frequent visitors are bald eagles and harbor seals. Running a ‘cottage business’ allows Lucy to be flexible. She is very willing to hand craft special orders for you with, say, all organic ingredients, without fruit, without nuts, or with different oils. Just let Lucy know what you might like.

I must say that I love the toffee bars. O.M.G. These are incredible and way too addicting. Just imagine lightly toasted original granola bound together by chocolate and finished with a sprinkle of sea salt. Ugh. I just can’t explain what perfection of flavors these bars hold.
Now, let’s get to the granola. Their granola comes in 5 flavors: Extra Seedy, Gluten Free, Original, Really Nutty Pecan and Naughty Chocolate.
Lucy's Original Granola is a perfectly balanced blend of healthful grains, nuts, seeds, coconut and fruits. When she started to bake it at home, her family and friends simply could not get enough of it. What else could she do but go into business with the best granola on the market? Crisp, nutty, light and not too sweet, this homemade granola is mixed, baked and turned by hand by Lucy and her family in their small cottage on the coast of Maine.

Naughty Chocolate Cherry Granola
Lucy's Extra Seedy Granola was born when one of Lucy's custom batches became so popular that she decided to put it on the shelves. It contains puffed rice, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, as well as all the delicious ingredients of the Original Granola.Ingredients: Rolled oats, coconut, almonds, wheat bran, wheat flakes, puffed rice, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cranberries, raisins, spelt flakes, wheat germ, flax meal, canola oil, maple syrup, honey and salt.

Lucy's Practically Gluten Free Granola started being made when she herself was diagnosed with gluten intolerance. Not wanting to give up her very own granola, she began experimenting with her master recipe. She was able to develop a granola every bit as tasty as the Original Granola by replacing the wheat flakes, bran and germ with other delicious grains, seeds and the immensely popular addition of natural puffed rice. Many granola fans, including those who are not wheat-intolerant, love this version of Lucy's Granola.

I love all of their granola. It is delicious and very healthy. Which is why this will be a staple in my kitchen as I not only use it as a snack but I will add it to my plain cereal at breakfast for an extra kick!
